You can talk to me
I am a friendly, qualified and experienced psychotherapist, a registered and accredited MBACP.
My story
I started working with mental health and madness in the early 1990s. Back then I was volunteering with psychiatric survivor activist groups and a befriending service for people affected by incarceration. DIY therapy was a big part of my life. I really liked it and enrolled on an introductory evening class in counselling skills.
I went on to work in other fields but came to a crossroads in my life during a long recovery from an injury. So I decided to develop the work I had enjoyed so much. Between 2006 and 2008 I trained as a psychotherapist at the University of East London and volunteered at East London Out Project. I set up my own practice in 2013.
Those early values and experiences stay with me. Today I offer individual psychotherapy, mostly remotely. Supporting people who have been socially marginalised is important to me. I aim to provide a really good, high-quality service, making therapy accessible and unpretentious. I love the work, have technical skills, areas of specialist knowledge and a professional approach.
I’ve come to understand psychotherapy and counselling as a kind of social healing that is full of radical potential. My work is about belonging to and serving community, aligning it with my core values: the liberation of all beings.
